About Our
Organization

Waciyanpi means Being Depended on

We are a Native led grass roots organization  dedicated to supporting all families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives and their surrounding community.

We work with families, victims, law enforcement and the community to assist with prevention, recovery, healing and services to help deter and fight the social epidemic of Missing and Murderer Indigenous Relatives.

Our Mission

To help prevent the incidents of missing and murdered indigenous relatives on the Crow Creek Reservation, to increase the resources and support for our local search and rescue operations, and to provide support services for those individuals and family members of missing or murdered Indigenous relatives.

MMIR
Education | Raising Awareness

Waciyanpi is dedicated to educating our communities about the complexities surrounding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP). By raising awareness through workshops and discussions, we aim to inspire action and healing within our community.

Cultural Engagement and Tradition: Our cultural roots are central to everything we do, from traditional hand game tournaments to tribal gatherings. These events not only provide positive alternatives for youth but also strengthen community bonds and instill pride in our heritage.

Resources and Empowerment: Waciyanpi offers vital resources to empower and support our community members, including MMIP awareness materials and traditional healing practices. These tools help our people stay connected to their heritage while fostering resilience and self-sufficiency.

Organizing Search Parties

Organizes and leads search parties, providing “Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons” and “Runaway” flyer templates to streamline awareness efforts.

We utilize social media posts to reach broader audiences quickly, especially within the critical first 72 hours.

By connecting with other organizations, we unite and strengthen community efforts in finding missing loved ones.

We also coordinate with local and state agencies, maintain updated contact lists for rapid response, and offer guidance to families throughout the search process. Together, these efforts ensure that each search is supported, organized, and able to reach as many people as possible.
